⚠ Precautions

Situations to Strictly Avoid

  • Avoid exposure to volatile silicon compounds (adhesives, hairspray, silicone, etc.), as they can permanently reduce sensor sensitivity.
  • Do not expose the sensor to high concentrations of corrosive gases (H2S, SOX, Cl2, HCl) to prevent corrosion or irreversible performance degradation.
  • Avoid contact with alkalis, alkali metal salts, or halogens (e.g., Freon) to prevent performance deterioration.
  • Do not allow the sensor to get wet or be submerged, as this can reduce sensitivity.
  • Avoid ice formation on the sensor surface, which can crack the sensitive layer and cause failure.
  • Do not apply voltage exceeding the specified value, as it can damage leads or the heater and reduce sensor sensitivity.

Situations to Avoid That May Reduce Sensor Performance

  • Minor condensation has little effect, but prolonged water on the sensor surface can degrade performance.
  • Long-term exposure to high gas concentrations affects sensor performance; direct spraying (e.g., lighter gas) can cause severe damage.
  • Prolonged exposure to extreme conditions (high humidity, temperature, or pollution) can severely affect sensor performance.
  • Frequent or excessive vibration can break internal sensor leads, such as during transport or pneumatic/ultrasonic assembly processes.

Prohibited Conditions

  • The sensor detects gases; do not allow any part to come into contact with liquids.
  • Do not plug/unplug or disassemble the sensor module.
  • Do not modify or move any electronic components.
  • Keep the sensor’s ventilation area clean; blockage can reduce sensitivity and slow response.
  • Avoid excessive impact or vibration; ensure the structure is intact, otherwise output may be unreliable.
  • After long-term exposure to high gas concentrations, recovery is slow; recovery speed is proportional to overrange levels.
  • Do not disassemble the sensor; doing so will cause damage.
